N.B.A. Combine Physical Fitness Test

The N.B.A. National Basketball Association host and hosted some of the greatest athletes in the world. From Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant; to Lebron James, Nate Robinson, and Blake Griffin. They are incredibly talented. The N.B.A. does have a system in place to test athletes before draft day. They called it the N.B.A. Combine. This test is comparable to the NFL Combine or also the NHL Combine.

Michael Jordan Quote: "I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed."

Lebron James Quote: "You have to be able to accept failure to get better."

Established in: "1947"

To attend, one must be invited from the teams as they will be watching the players. Most invitees are the basketball players who dominate the NCAA divisions.

N.B.A. Combine Drills

This test involves 6 different exercises, which have to be completed in the listed order. The numbers are taken from the 2019 NBA Combine and are the average of the more athletic candidates of that year. The first exercise is an AMRAP on the Bench with 185 lbs, followed with a running vertical jump max, and a standing vertical jump max. The candidates will be then tested in terms of speed, reactivity, and agility.

Another thing that future N.B.A. Aspirants are going through is body measurements such as height, body fat, hand length, hand width, height with shoes, height without shoes, standing reach, weight, and wingspan. As those are given measures, arguably things that cannot be improved just by hard training, I left those out. Also, the data provided here are unofficial scores. I took the liberty of comparing data from former invitees mostly guards to define what could be determined as passing standard and good scores.
