They are trained to fight against money laundering, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and weapon trafficking. Their expertise however lies in fighting organized crime and counter-terrorism.

To join, the applicant has to be Colombian, need to have a clean record and not involved with any ongoing
investigation, nor have any pending fine in the context of police work. They usually cannot be older than 30. They can
be single or married; however, no more than 2 children are allowed. It is recommended to not have any pending traffic
infringements either.
