If they score, less they are immediately sent packing. If the candidate scores lower than prescribed, they must make it up in another category. It is important to know that to be considered for selection, the higher you score in each category in comparison with others, the more likely you will be accepted into Selection Phase II.

Swimming Portion of Phase I JTF 2

Candidates usually receive a day between physical testing and swimming. The swimming portion might be administered before the physical fitness test. The swimming portion consists of Abandon Ship Emergency exercises and Rudimentary swimming skills. The candidates have to jump into water feet first, fully clothed, but without shoes, and swim 50 meters non-stop. They then have to do a forward flip into the water and then tread for at least 2 minutes, before swimming another 20 meters. Both events are pass/fail. Those Candidates who make it through Phase I will be evaluated mentally and will undergo multiple interviews.

Selection Phase III - JTF2

Phase 3 of the selection process is considered to be the "Selection". This phase lasts 7 days and starts usually in the Fall of each year. It is said to be extremely hard physically and mentally. Candidates are pushed to their breaking points with a very carefully designed scientific system to understand how the candidate reacts under extreme pressure, how they handle heights and fears, and how controlled can they disassemble and assemble their weapons under sleep deprivation. Endurance is key to success in Phase III. To be successful in this phase, one must score high on the physical fitness test week. Before being accepted into the next phase, candidates will again have to come in front of a review board, where they will find out if they have made it into the SOA Course.

Before the candidate can join one of the units, they must undergo further specialized training, which lasts another 10 months. The candidates did not make the cut yet, as they are still being evaluated.
