MARSOC Raiders, professional combat athletes, part of the Marine Special Operations Command, and part of U.S. Special Forces SOCOM, are highly trained and highly skilled soldiers.

Motto: "Spiritus Invictus"
Translation: Unconquerable Spirit

Established in: "2006"

The A&S Assessment & Selection of the MARSOC Raiders is divided into the First Phase and Second Phase and is followed by I.T.C., the Individual Training Course. Throughout Phase 1, which lasts 23 days, the Marine needs to complete multiple swim training sessions, run, and ruck, and pass obstacle courses. The marine will also be evaluated on his mental state and partake in advanced land navigation.

To join, one must be an enlisted Marine, have a general technical score of at least 105, pass a medical screening test, and obtain a security clearance.

The first phase starts with an initial 3-day pt-weekend, where some candidates might be already dropped from the course. The weekend starts with the BMT. It is then followed by events in the pool and finishes with an initial ruck. First Phase then continues, with further rucks. Ruck runs have to be performed at least a 15 min a mile pace, whereas to stay competitive, you should aim for at least 13 min a mile speed. Mind you, some of the runs will most likely be performed in mountainous terrain. The fastest recorded time for the 12 miles in 1 hour and 47 minutes. This is the only the first phase, and it is known that only being a stud of an athlete will not guarantee you to progress to the next phase. Peer Evaluation also plays a major role. To prepare for First Phase, as it includes various ruck marches and ruck runs between 4 - 12 miles, a MARSOC recruit should pass the 10 week MARSOC Fitness Guide.

    MARSOC Creed

My name is Marine. My title is MARSOC Silent Warrior, and I exemplify both with equal vigor and determination. My judgment, initiative, and professionalism are the hallmarks of my position.

Always Faithful, Always Forward in the fight to defend our Nation and our way of life. I will never surrender, I will never fall back, and I will always remember the Marine Warriors who have gone before me. I will defend, with my life, the honor and legacy of our great fighting spirit.

Realizing that the battlefield is always changing, I will train with fervor and intensity to ensure that I will excel in any environment and all conditions. I will set the example for all Warrior Marines. My skill and knowledge will inspire them to follow me.

Semper Fidelis will be the guiding principle in my life and chosen profession. I will be faithful to my God, my Corps, my family, and my comrades. I will never fail those who guide me, support me, love me, and fight with me.

Outstanding leadership in combat, training in the field, formation in garrison, and on liberty. I will lead Marines and ensure that they are ready, relevant, courteous, and respectful. By my own example and with concerned leadership, I will forge the next generation of Special Operations Forces warrior leaders.

Committed Special Operations Forces Marine tested by trial and examination. I am a Silent Warrior. I am a Marine by the Grace of our God.
