The selection continues for those candidates that not only passed all the events but also who are deemed to be a good fit for the unit. This decision lies in the hand of the director of BOA. The specialized training then lasts 9 months. They will also undergo various tough events in the mountains, as the 48-hour march, where they will be tasked with various events to perform. Sometimes only 15% of the group will make it through the whole process. Candidates are monitored throughout the entire recruitment and training process. Facts and more Information

This unit has its roots laid out by Capt. Edward Misztal, who was one of their first members and deputies. He is known for his very unconventional training methods. Legend is saying that, when he was in charge, candidates needed to climb a rope to enter a door on the second floor as part of the physical fitness test. If you failed to make it, you would be excluded from selection process.
