USAF Air Force B.M.T. Physical Fitness Test

The U.S. Air Force, known for having the best aviators in the world, is an extremely important military branch of the U.S The Air Force plays an important role in U.S. military history. One of their special force units is called Pararescueman. Please click here for more information.


To join, one must be at least 17 years and not older than 39, be a U.S. Resident or U.S. Citizen, have a high school diploma and must pass the ASVAB. You also need to pass the physical requirements test listed below.

Note: The requirements to enter B.M.T. are different from the ones, that you need to graduate from B.M.T. This test below is a combination of when you enter Bootcamp and the different levels that you can achieve, such as Warhawk, thunderbolt & liberator.

Pre-Selection AirForce Test

To get into AirForce BMT, a candidate must pass the Passing Requirements. To successfully graduate from BMT, one must achieve Liberator Status (Good). To be considered for Honor Graduate, one must at least reach Thunderbolt status, which is listed here as "Great". The highest and hardest standard to reach is Warhawk, listed under "Gold". Candidates who achieve this will receive a special T-Shirt, a special certificate of recognition, and an extra 'town pass day for graduation week.

Air Force Bootcamp

Air Force Bootcamp is 8.5 weeks long. The recruit's wake up time is 4:45 AM. 5 to 6 AM is PC time (Physical Conditioning). Lights out are at 9 PM. Physical fitness is preached throughout Bootcamp, 6 days per week. Throughout Bootcamp, the Recruits will learn about the Law of Armed of Conflict, the Warrior Ethos, Code of Conduct, Air Force History, Nuclear Biological & Chemical Training, CPR, Weapons cleaning and Weapons training, and so much more. They also have to overcome the BMT Obstacle Course, the Tactical Course, and the Tactical Assault Course. They finish Bootcamp on Graduation Day Thursday with the Airman's Run, which starts at 8 AM and is 2.5 miles long. The candidates are now airmen, and this is the first time when they see their families.

Fly in the Air Force

To fly in the Air Force, one must become an officer. The requirements vary greatly from regular requirements to get into Bootcamp. You cannot be older than 33 at the time of the pilot application. The pilot candidate has to have or has to be close to graduate with a Bachelors Degree with a minimum GPA of at least 2.5, and nave normal color vision with 20/30 visual acuity. The application also has to be very healthy. The candidate has to have a clean medical sheet, no allergies included. The candidate has to be at least 5ft 4 tall, and not more than 6ft 5.

9 Principles of the (LOAC)

LOAC, which stands for "Law of Armed Conflict" is important to be learned by every Airman. It is a set of rules similar to the Rules of Engagement.

1) Fight only Enemy Combatants;
2) Do not Harm Enemies who Surrender; Disarm Them and Turn Them Over to Your Superiors;
3) Do Not Kill or Torture Prisoners;
4) Collect and Care for the Wounded, whether Friend or Foe;
5) Do Not Attack Medical Personnel, Facilities, or Equipment;
6) Destroy No More than the Mission Requires;
7) Treat All Civilians Humanely;
8) Do Not Steal; Respect Private Property and Possessions;
9) Do Your Best to Prevent Violations of the Law of War; Report All Violations
